Drawing and painting

Platform C has a wide range of drawing and painting classes taught by various teachers who are professional artists. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed and in a well-equipped classroom.

This course is for people who are comfortable with drawing and/or painting, and who want to work on either an idea of their own, or an assignment, still-life, or based on visual material. The teacher will help you choose a personal approach, using techniques of your choice in water colour, acrylic- or oil paint or drawing. The teacher will encourage you to use, give shape to and further develop your imagination. For this course you must bring your own materials. Experimenting with different techniques is key on this course. We will be working with pastel, ink, collage and watercolour; each technique being introduced by looking at the work of well-known artists. In so doing we will explore a path through art history. We will 'translate' 3D onto a flat surface by practising still life, portrait and drawing models. Proportion, line, form, composition, light and shadow will be the main aim on this course, but there will also be exercises focusing on a more artistic way of looking at classical subjects, abstracting forms and experimenting with composition and colour. The materials are included in the price and individual coaching will be giving during the lessons. More information about the teacher on https://www.saatchiart.com/miriamhommes
