Conditions Muziek- en Dansschool Amstelveen

1. Lessons format

a. Preparatory Instrumental Coaching
Group lesson-45 > 3 or 4 pupils x 45 minutes per week
Group lesson-60 > 5 or more pupils x 60 minutes per week

b. Music and Movement, Basic Course Music and Ballet
Group teaching-45 > music & movement, a playful approach to music and introduction to ballet > 45 minutes per week
Group teaching-60 > basic course music and ballet > 60 minutes per week

c. Instrumental/Vocal teaching
Standard package: 15 minutes on average per student per week, lesson format decided on together with the teacher;
Standard package plus 1 star: 20 minutes on average per student per week, lesson format decided on together with the teacher;
Standard package plus 2 stars: 25 minutes on average per student per week, content of the lessons decided on together with the teacher;
Standard package plus 3 stars: 30 minutes on average per student per week, content of the lessons decided on together with the teacher;
Standard package plus 4 stars: 35 minutes on average per student per week, content of the lessons decided on together with the teacher;
Standard package plus 5 stars: 40 minutes on average per student per week, content of the lessons decided on together with the teacher;
Standard package plus 6 stars: 45 minutes on average per student per week, content of the lessons decided on together with the teacher;
10-lesson ticket: 30 minutes per lesson; content to be discussed with the teacher.

2. The student is expected to have the use of an instrument, enough time to study, and to attend all lessons as much as possible. In case of absence the office needs to be informed a.s.a.p., preferably before 11 AM, and with a statement of reason(s).

3. If the student should not make the expected progress the school reserves the right to end the lesson contract.

4. Should the teacher be unable to teach due to illness, the first two lessons will be cancelled. For the remaining lessons the school will try to find a substitute teacher if necessary. Should this turn out to be impossible the course fee of the remaining classes – after 4 cancelled lessons - will be refunded.

5. (Re-)enrolment in 1-year courses is valid for an entire course year, that is to say from August 1 to July 31. The fee(s) cover the entire course year.

6. At premature cancellation the full fee will remain payable, except when cancellation takes place on medical advice (after receiving a written statement to that extent the fee will be reduced with the number of months that no more lessons will be taken). At removal outside the region notice must be given three months beforehand.

7. If calamities such as extreme weather conditions, force majeure, epidemics or other exceptional circumstances make it impossible to have lessons on location, Platform C will offer alternatives such as instructions/homework and/or online lessons. Should Platform C be unable to offer any alternatives cancelled classes may be eligible for a refund. Platform C  cannot be held responsible for any (consequential) damage resulting from force majeure.

8. If the fee is not paid by due date postage- and administration costs will be re-invoiced.

9. Family discount will be automatically deducted: 5% for the 2nd and following child(ren) (maximum age 20). The discount is only given on year courses for students under 21.

10. For residents of Amstelveen under 21 who are in the possession of an ‘amstelveenpas’, a 30% reduction will be given. A copy of the pass must be handed in to the office at the main building before August 1st. This discount is only applicable to year courses.

11. Students younger than 21 are to have their parents/caregivers sign the entry- or modification forms.

12. The school participates in the professional assistance sector regulations concerning undesirable behaviour. Undesirable behaviour includes sexual intimidation, bullying, discrimination, aggression and violence. These regulations are applicable to both students and employees. Next to professional support by trained counsellors there is a complaints committee. The number to call, via ArboNed,  is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day: 0800-0204204

During the holidays there are no music-, dance- or theatre lessons.
